Book 1 'Saved by the Bull' is already live on Amazon. It has a number of 5-star reviews - people love it! It's available in paperback as well as an ebook on Kindle. The emotions I feel at all this are rather more extreme than anything I've felt since ...well, the birth of my son. That sounds like an unduly emotive assertion, but all that writing, drafting, correcting, changing to get a draft manuscript ready and place it before a few dozen readers to give their unexpurgated opinions - it makes a person feel very vulnerable.
And then there's the explaining to a cover designer (thankfully, James at GoOnWrite.com is gifted with second sight, masses of intuition and the patience of a saint). He's also a whiz when it comes to the artistic side.
Making corrections to the manuscript, formatting it in Word and getting Kindle Direct Publishing ('KDP') to accept the complete file requires more finger-nail chewing than I have fingers.
The feeling when the first paperback proof copy plopped through the letter box was like waiting in the hospital to hear whether I might have progeny. Publishing the thing and receiving reviews was akin to being told the APGAR scores our infant had achieved after birth. As New York parents, we had become competitive, even for this!
